Proceed as follows if you want to add places such as

  • City

  • Non-Urban Settlement

  • Urban Neighborhood

  • Sacred/Religious Landscap

  • Funerary Landscape

  • Excavation sector

1. create a new “geographical place”

→ you can give the place several names (in several languages)

make sure the place does not already exist. If it does, use the existing one.

Important: Select the type, such as city, non-urban settlement etc.

If you want to indicate that a place was within another place (eg. the funerary landscape within the city of Antinoopolis)

  1. Open the tab of the newly created place

    1. switch to edit mode (keyboard shortcut “tab E”)

  2. select “has quality”

    1. add time if known

    2. select “is inside or relative to” to link this place to the place it is inside of.

  • etc

  • add geo-coordinates if existing

  • add the appropriate type

identical to “places”, link constructions to places they are in, either using the advanced form or later on opening the tab of the relevant construction.

→ select: “has quality” and define a new “relative location”

3. Production: inform about the usage of a structure

  • select “is used by” to add the class “Use”. Inform about the:

    • time-span

    • the type of usage

      • → for this, create the types of usage as “propositional objects” (similar to a vocabulary)

    • if wished: generically: the intentional collective (such as “residents of Antinoopolis) or more specific: person/group using it

4. inform about the creation of a structure

  • select “was produced by” to create a production

Now, there are several options, how you can add more information:

    • → you can select a pre-defined Physical Human Made Object type (such as Opus Sectile) or define a new one.

  • click on “has quantifiable quality” to inform about the number of things that form this set. (e.g. 20 units of columns)

    • close the box “type” if not needed by clicking on the x

If you want to inform about used materials, such as “stone, mud bricks” etc., then select “used specific obejct“ to add a “Amount of Matter”.
